“Mustard Seed Faith”

Is faith and believing the same? In Matthew 17:20 Christ tells the disciples “If you have the faith of a mustard seed you can say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” and in Hebrews 11: 1 it states; “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Believing is knowing that you know…that you know throughout your being and faith is the awakening of that believing that is unshakable and unquestionable… a gift from God. We have become blinded by what we see and limited by doubt, this is why the disciples had trouble casting out the demon. I believe Christ spoke literally about moving a mountain at that time and still applies to today, however, may we grow up first maturely in our faith by moving the smaller mountains in our life as we prayerfully ask God to open our eyes and increase our faith to move the bigger ones. I believe we ought to meditate on the first time we received Christ as Lord and savior in our lives…that would be the essence of that believing faith we need to walk in daily that makes all miracles possible for today…just as when we first believed. May God keep you and protect you as you walk day to day and faith to faith.
